First time I stay at a hotel in Laval. This place was good on price. The best part was when I got there we met Serge. He was very friendly and got me what I needed in my room right away and he was working the overnight shift. The rooms where ok since there where some stuff broken and wallpaper ripped off the walls but comfortable non the less and fair for the price. I hope anyone else going there has the same or better experience.
DISAPPOINTED to say the least. If you're on a budget then I'd go ahead and book this hotel, otherwise RUN! Old, moldy and their breakfast vouchers are a joke seeing how they have a hotel with 60+ rooms and their breakfast room sits about 12 people. Spent two nights there and was never able to redeem my breakfast voucher (family of 5). The first room we were given, the toilet didn't work, the hotel front desk staff accommodated us and moved our room (across the hall) to a room with similar furniture (from the 80s) but at least the everything worked. Oh and the two queen beds that were mentioned when i booked the room were magically replaced by double beds and trust me there's a huge difference for a big family (3 young children).
The Quality Inn in Laval worked well for the 3 of us traveling to Montreal for 2 nights. Location is right off of the highway so going down to the heart of Montreal or north to the Premium outlets is not too far by drive. The first suite we got had a bad a/c and the ceiling hums via vibration constantly which we had to ask to switch to a different room. The staff there were very friendly and immediately ask us to go to the front desk for the keys to a different room. The new room was much better; a/c was working without the vibration. Both suites had a bedroom with a king size bed, a vanity table and chair in the bedroom, and a hair-dryer. The bedroom is also a walkthrough to the washroom.Washroom is a typical 3 piece with a tub.The living space has a couch and a separate double bed. The couch is probably a sofa bed which could potentially fit 6 in the room. In our new room we also have an armchair which we didn't get in the first room. The furniture, carpets, and decor are a bit dated for sure... but it is spacious and comfortable.Microwave and a coffee machine is also situated in the living area. The breakfast is minimal; has 2x waffle maker, apple and orange juice, lots of bread, muffins, croissant, apples, bagels, etc. Cereal and milk in the fridge and yogurt cups. Most of the time a lot of the items are gone. Rose, the attendant for the breakfast, is super friendly and nice, but with the amount of people dining there, it seems like she's unable to keep up refilling the breakfast items. Though if you ask her, she would bring it out.Ample parking spot right outside - never had a problem with parking. Will probably stay here again in the future.
The staff was friendly enough but the first room we got smelled too much like cigarette smoke. The second room didnt smell as much. The bed was comfortable but the couch was worn out and dingy. The carpet was dirty with spots all over, also the curtains was torn. The cabinets had missing pieace and the tv in the bedroom didnt work unless you unplug it and plug it back in. This chain needs to step it up and make changes. Bad reviews are going to keep coming in until they do. Were from the US and have never stayed in a Choice Hotel this bad. Get it together! Overall, I Love Montreal!
Great Staff! Had a great stay with my family. Dog friendly spot :)
